Disarm PTSD for HSP’s
Did you experience child abuse-either mental, physical or emotional?
Did you get caught in your family’s trauma of surviving or your Mom’s anger or Dad’s fear?
Child abuse is a form of trauma— PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Trauma/PTSD is an imbalance or dysregulation in the functioning of the automatic nervous system, according to many researchers, including Dr. Aimie and Peter Levine.
When our early normal childhood is filled with child abuse, life can be like living with a blaring internal fire alarm showing you the unsafe conditions of your world. This can push you into overwhelm and result in you falling into fight, flight or freeze responses. Long term survival in these states can aggravate our innate HSP sensitivities ie noise, crowds, bright lights, fatigue.
Child abuse PTSD also results in HSP’s losing the ability to mature correctly and cope with life’s challenges. Being in child abuse can feel like our personal human development gets interrupted and postponed.
We may not be able to move forward, We feel stuck. We hold thoughts of “I’m not good enough, I’m not safe. I’m not loved, I’m a victim, life will always be crap.”
Isolation & Obsession
These thoughts can become the emotional and mental barriers that lock us into certain responses and behaviors that are not productive for our future or our well being. We end up creating a lifestyle of isolation, or avoidance where we shut down feeling anything, or we become obsessed with anger, revenge, anxiety or slip into depression or powerlessness. We also lose our connection to Source and the vast wisdom of the universe that could guide us to a better life.
And in the whole human body energy system, focusing on negativity is like building a dam on a flowing river. We end up shutting off the positive growth enhancing energy, creating autoimmune disease.
With this type of lifestyle, we end up perpetuating a situation we really need to drop.
GUIDING US BACK TO US
To clear these thoughts and feelings and guide us back to our authentic self, we need to use our empathy and compassion to help us heal. In the book, Frequency; the power of personal vibration, the author Penney Peirce explains the process, “That experience (of soul, or your own highest frequency state) is among other things, one of empathy and compassion, where high-quality feeling shoots you straight through and beyond the seduction of suffering, the limitations of logic and the fuzzy hypnosis of the world. You have to feel lovable, loved and loving— in your very cells—before you can grasp the truth of your enlightened identity, know oneness and settle into an expanded way of living.”

As bearers of high spiritual sensitivities, we have a great opportunity to be way showers, leaders and influencers in our world and help others acquire and work with the traits we possess. This will help usher all of us into the Golden Age that spiritual teachers are preparing us for.
MEETING ON ZOOM — BUILDING COMMUNITY
Community and connection with other HSP’s is essential in helping all of us heal and flourish in these difficult times. Our collective energies will assist all of us to raise our personal vibration. This vibration, according to Peirce, “is the frequency of energy you hold moment by moment in your body, emotions, and mind—is the most important tool you have for creating and living your ideal life. If your energy frequency is high, fast and clear, life unfolds effortlessly and in alignment with your destiny.”
My book, Disarming PTSD with art, poetry and intuition lays out my path of awareness and journey of healing PTSD from child abuse.
It will make a great resource for the personal transformation process we all need right now. The art and poetry will open your heart and give you clarity on the effect of PTSD, and the journaling questions will clear the fog in your head like the morning sun clears the darkness.
